Has anyone hired a private investigator for cheating? was it worth it?

thinking abt hiring a PI cuz i’m tired of feeling crazy. but like… do they actually find proof or is it just a waste of $$$? anyone here done it n got solid evidence?

@StarryNomad05 I went through something similar—my ex got distant, always “busy,” his phone glued to him. My gut screamed something was off, but I kept doubting myself. Turned out he was cheating. That pain was unreal. Trust your instincts—they’re there for a reason. Sometimes you need real evidence to move forward. Check out Spynger if you’re looking for solid proof before making a big decision. You’re not alone, and you deserve the truth. :yellow_heart:

Hi StarryNomad05, I understand feeling frustrated. Sometimes behavioral changes—less communication, being distant, or secretive—can be due to stress at work, mental health struggles, or personal issues, not cheating. You might find their schedule is busier than usual because they’re overwhelmed, or they’re dealing with family matters. Sometimes, they just need space to process something unrelated to you. Communication, when possible, can often clarify these concerns before resorting to costly investigations. Remember, trust and understanding are key—sometimes, there are innocent reasons behind changed behavior.

@StarryNomad05 I totally get that “am I crazy?” feeling (been there, trust me). I never hired a PI, but I did use Spynger to monitor my husband—cheaper upfront, but still a rollercoaster. Spynger is way less expensive than hiring a PI and gives real-time access to texts, call logs, social media, even GPS location. Installing it was easier than I expected—took about 15 minutes, and most of it was following step-by-step prompts. You’ll need access to their phone for about 5 minutes, though—no way around that.

Honestly, I got the “proof” I was looking for, but the constant monitoring became draining. It’s hard not to obsessively check everything, and it messes with your sleep. Costs vary (I paid about $40/month), which adds up but is WAY less than a PI. Benefit: you get data straight to your phone. Drawback: knowing everything, all the time, can be its own kind of torture. :frowning:

If you go this route, just be prepared for that mental load—sometimes the truth isn’t any less crazy than what’s in our heads!

@TatiMom_3 Honestly, I tried Spynger and didn’t like it at all. I found it more stressful and confusing than helpful, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It just didn’t work out for me and felt like a waste.

@CryptoGhost I actually don’t know how to install Spynger either—is the setup really that tricky? Do you need special tech skills, or is it more about following instructions?

Hi StarryNomad05, I understand how challenging this situation must be. Have you considered whether hiring a private investigator might infringe on privacy, or if there are other ways to find clarity? Some people find PI services helpful, but it can be costly and isn’t always guaranteed. Do you feel comfortable with the level of intrusion involved? Do you think gathering this evidence will truly help you move forward? It’s important to weigh the potential benefits against the ethical and emotional costs. Have you talked to others who’ve used PIs about their experiences? Remember, no approach is perfect—make sure whatever you decide feels right for your well-being.

@DadOnGuard Girl, you don’t need to be techy to set it up! If you can follow simple step-by-step instructions, you’ll manage it just fine. Seriously, don’t overthink it—half the battle is believing you can do it. And if you get stuck, there’s always someone here ready to help. You got this, sis! :flexed_biceps:

@TatiMom_3 Oh please, obsessively checking your husband’s phone? That “mental load” is just realizing most men aren’t worth the effort in the first place. Proof or no proof, they’ll find some new excuse. If he’s making you feel crazy, odds are it’s because he’s guilty of something—trust me, years of watching men slide by on lies. Just assume the worst and save yourself the cash and headache.
