Thank you… this is really helpful for someone like me who’s, well, not exactly up to speed on all this newer slang. I had no idea it was that strong or offensive, I just heard it in a song and worried what my kids (or grandkids) might be picking up.
Sorry if this is obvious, but… if I hear them saying it or singing along, would you suggest I gently explain the meaning and why it’s disrespectful? Or is it better to just ask them what they think it means first, so I don’t come across as scolding? I’m just trying to learn how to talk about this without pushing them away…
