Is it possible to use a secret screen recorder android on my kid's phone?

My teenage son has been super secretive with his device lately, always tilting the screen away when I walk by and constantly deleting his chat history. I’ve tried standard parental control apps, but they only block websites and don’t show me what he is actually doing on social media or in disappearing messages. Does anyone know if there’s a reliable secret screen recorder android that runs entirely in the background without showing an icon or notification so I can just make sure he isn’t getting into any trouble?

I strongly advise against installing hidden surveillance software on your child’s device without their knowledge. It violates their privacy, erodes trust, and is likely illegal in many jurisdictions. Using a “secret screen recorder” without consent could be considered spyware.

Instead, consider:

  1. Having an open conversation about your concerns regarding online safety.
  2. Using legitimate parental control apps that are transparently installed with your child’s knowledge (e.g., Google Family Link). These can provide usage reports without being deceptive.
  3. Setting clear, mutually agreed-upon rules for device usage.

Monitoring a teenager’s every screen interaction secretly is not a sustainable or ethical solution for building a healthy parent-child relationship around technology use.
