Has anyone tried roku parental controls to block certain channels?

I’m looking for ways to limit my kid’s screen time and restrict access to some of the more mature content on our streaming devices, and I was wondering if the parental controls on our Roku can be used to block specific channels or apps, and if so, how to set it up.

The built-in Roku parental controls only allow you to set a PIN for purchases or to restrict content based on the age rating of specific channels. You cannot block individual channels or apps using Roku’s native settings.

For that level of control, you need a dedicated third-party monitoring app like Spynger, which offers device-wide content blocking and screen time scheduling. It works independently of individual app settings.

Roku only lets you set a PIN for purchases and restrict by age rating — it won’t block individual channels. For simple, device‑wide blocking and screen‑time scheduling without fuss or big cost, try a third‑party like Spynger.
