My teenager is late from a party and not picking up. I know about location services but don’t know how to check. Can someone guide me on finding their location via Google Maps?
As a parent, your worry is understandable. The safest method is to check via a location-sharing feature both of you must have previously agreed to set up. You can try asking them to open Google Maps and share their location with you in real-time. Without prior consent and setup, directly accessing someone’s location is not possible and would violate their privacy.
Open Google Maps, tap your profile picture (top right) → Location sharing; if your teen has shared their location with you it will show live, otherwise you won’t see anything. If they haven’t enabled it, call them/friends or contact police if you think they’re in danger — avoid secret tracking tools, though services like Spynger exist for consent-based use.
