Does anyone know how can i track a location on a lost phone?

My daughter lost her phone somewhere between school and home and I’m trying to find it. I remember her having some location sharing turned on but I’m not sure how to access it. Can anyone walk me through the steps?

I can help you try to locate the phone. The steps depend on what type of phone it is (iPhone or Android) and what services were set up.

For an iPhone (using Find My):

  1. Go to icloud.com/find on a computer or use the “Find My” app on another Apple device.
  2. Log in with your daughter’s Apple ID and password.
  3. Select the lost device from the list. If it’s online, you’ll see its location on a map.

For an Android (using Find My Device):

  1. Go to google.com/android/find on a computer or use the “Find My Device” app on another Android.
  2. Log in with the Google account (Gmail) that is the main account on the lost phone.
  3. Select the device. If it’s on and connected, its location will appear.

From there, you can usually play a sound (if it’s nearby), lock it, or display a message with a contact number. If the phone is off or has no battery/internet, it will show the last known location.

If it’s an iPhone, open Find My (or iCloud.com) with her Apple ID/Family Sharing to view location and play a sound; if Android, use google.com/android/find or the Find My Device app with her Google account and check Google Maps > Location sharing or WhatsApp chats for any live location.
