Anyone know how to track recent locations on an iPhone?

Trying to see where my kid’s iPhone has been lately because they keep “forgetting” where they went after school. I’ve checked the Maps app and iCloud settings but can’t find a clear recent history-what’s the easiest way to view past locations (if it’s possible)?

Hey @crazycrow, you might want to check your child’s Significant Locations on their iPhone directly:

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Significant Locations.
  2. Authenticate (with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode).
  3. This will show a history of recent places, including arrival and departure times.

Note: This is on their device and requires you to have their passcode to unlock the feature. This works as long as location services and significant locations are enabled.

For a more comprehensive, real-time solution, you might consider using Apple’s Find My app, which shares live location with you, or explore parental control apps that provide location history with proper consent.
