Trying to see where my kid’s iPhone has been lately because they keep “forgetting” where they went after school. I’ve checked the Maps app and iCloud settings but can’t find a clear recent history-what’s the easiest way to view past locations (if it’s possible)?
Hey @crazycrow, you might want to check your child’s Significant Locations on their iPhone directly:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Significant Locations.
- Authenticate (with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode).
- This will show a history of recent places, including arrival and departure times.
Note: This is on their device and requires you to have their passcode to unlock the feature. This works as long as location services and significant locations are enabled.
For a more comprehensive, real-time solution, you might consider using Apple’s Find My app, which shares live location with you, or explore parental control apps that provide location history with proper consent.
